Minimum requirements for consideration as a Ranger lead:
At least 15 dirt shifts or more at this and other burns
Khaki (shift lead) experience at at least two burns, a total of 4 times or more
Pre-Event tasks:
Recruitment for both dirt and khaki shifts
Attend MORG event online meetings
Shift scheduling and coordination
Assist in creating, planning, coordinating and conducting Ranger training
Conduct pre-event Mosaic Ranger trainings
Work with other regional burns’ Ranger leads to coordinate regional training model for multiple events in the area
Event Tasks:
Be on call and ready to respond to Ranger calls when scheduled as Ranger of the Day
You must be Sober when on shift
Consult via radio or in Person with khaki and dirt rangers as needed
Ranger of the Day responds to LLC and other leads/co-leads with ranger questions/needs
Train dirt rangers
Train and mentor new khakis
Help train effigy perimeter volunteers and coordinate all participants involved in perimeter
Be a resource for and collaborate with all other departments as requested/needed
Remember, as a lead, your behavior off shift will reflect on other rangers even if you're not in uniform
