Need-Based Ticket Program
Mosaic Experiment’s Need-Based Ticket Program returns for 2025! The program is dual funded by a pool of reduced price tickets set aside by Mosaic Experiment and a fund supported by community donations.
The NBT program allows for flexibility in responding to fluctuating community needs. When needs are high, the program will be able to facilitate funding more reduced price tickets than what the organization could afford to set aside purely on its own thanks to the addition of community donations. In addition, this program provides the flexibility to meet varied levels of need. While one participant may be able to afford a ticket at $20 off the original cost, another participant may not be able to attend unless their ticket is fully funded. Community members are encouraged to request the level of assistance that would make a ticket accessible for them based on their unique needs.
*New for 2025*
NBT program tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE (not new!) but will have LIMITED TRANSFERABILITY. What does this mean? We ask that if you receive an NBT ticket offer that you only accept if you are reasonably sure you will be able to make it to the event. If something comes up prior to the ticket transfer window closing, you may attempt to transfer your ticket back to the NBT program. Need-Based Tickets will ONLY be transferable within the program and NBT transfers will be conducted by the NBT lead.
We want all Need-Based Tickets and funds to be utilized to the best of their ability. Therefore, in addition to allowing limited facilitated transfers, we are tracking the utilization of accepted NBT program tickets. Acceptance of an Need-Based Ticket without utilizing it (showing up to the event), transferring it within the allowed window, or informing NBT of a last-minute obstacle that precluded your event attendance may result in prohibition from using the program in subsequent years.
Requests
If you would like to make a request for ticket funding assistance, please fill out the Need-Based Ticket Request Form . Once your request is matched with a ticket you will be emailed instructions regarding how to proceed. For this reason it is imperative that you provide your best contact info when filling out the request form.
Please know that although our goal is to meet all requests, NBT’s are not guaranteed. If funds are exhausted and requests remain, program facilitators will call out to the community for donations until those requests are met or until tickets are sold out. If it appears as though tickets will sell out before all requests are met, program facilitators will notify the remaining requesters of this possibility before tickets sell out.
In order to not leave any requests in limbo, the program will stop accepting requests on Tuesday August 19th. If it appears as though tickets will sell out sooner, program facilitators reserve the right to stop accepting requests early.
Requests will be fixed to the ticket tier price at the date of the request submission. See the Ticketing page for pricing details.
Do not purchase a standard ticket after making an NBT request. If your request cannot be met or if tickets are approaching selling out, you will have an opportunity through the program to purchase a ticket at the tier price your request is fixed to. If you purchase a standard ticket before the program closes, it will be assumed you no longer need the requested funding and your request will be removed from the queue.
All adults must submit their own individual NBT requests. Requests for multiple tickets may only be made by an adult requesting additional tickets for children they are responsible for ages 13-17. Tickets for children 12 years old and under are free, but must be purchased through Volunteeripate at the time of their parent or legal guardian acquiring their ticket.
All official program correspondence will be conducted via email. Requestors will receive regular updates with where their request is in the queue. If their request is met, they will generally have two weeks to follow the emailed instructions to purchase their Need-Based Ticket. The window to act may be shortened as the program approaches its closing date.
Participants making a request for Need-Based Tickets are encouraged to make their request as early as possible. Requests will be met in the order they are received.
NBT program tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE. NBT program tickets may ONLY be transferred within the NBT program. These transfers will be conducted by an NBT program facilitator and cannot be carried out by the ticket holder themself. Transfer requests must be initiated by emailing NBT@mosaicexperiment.com by September 20th, which is THREE DAYS PRIOR to the final ticket transfer cut off date. More notice is appreciated.
Please only accept an NBT offer if you are reasonably sure you will be able to attend the event. Failure to utilize or transfer an NBT program ticket may result in prohibition from the program in subsequent years.
Donations
If you would like to donate towards the Need-Based Ticket program, you can send your donation one of three ways:
1. Visit mosaic.volunteeripate.com/donate to make a donation. A Volunteeripate account is NOT required.
2. Add a donation to the end of your Mosaic Experiment ticket purchase.
3. Donate to NBT@mosaicexperiment.com on PayPal. Please note, we are leaving this option live for 2025 only as we transition to Volunteeripate. In subsequent years, all donations are expected to be collected via our event’s Volunteeripate platform.
Gifted Tickets
If you would like to donate an already purchased ticket to the NBT program, please email NBT@mosaicexperiment.com for further instructions.
Donations will be paired with the next available request. If all requests are met and the program closes, these donations will be kept in a donation pool and applied to next year’s requests.
The NBT program will stop accepting donations for this year’s NBT requests on Tuesday, September 16th.
