Need-Based Tickets - The Home Stretch

Hey guess what!

So far this year the combination of MOrg funding and generous community donations has directly funded 36 Needs-Based Ticket requests!

But we’re not done yet! There are 12 more requests currently UNMET! Current requests range from $45 towards the price of a ticket to full funding.

Can you help?

Donations of any amount can be sent to NBT@mosaicexperiment.com on PayPal.

Want to gift a full ticket or transfer an already purchased ticket to the program?

Email NBT@mosaicexperiment.com for directions.

Requesters:

Keep an eye on your email! Offers come out quickly and expire in only a few days now that we are approaching the end of the program. All pending requests will receive an update email by tomorrow evening.

If you had an offer and missed the deadline to accept, you may reach out via email to be put back in the queue at the end of the line.

Gratefully,

Vote For Mosaic 2024's Theme!

We received a lot of great theme submissions this year from all of you out in the community and after narrowing them down to our top five, it's your turn to cast your votes to determine what theme this year's Experiment will be!

Head over to the voting form before 8:00pm on Saturday, April 20th and pick our theme!

So what themes are you voting on?

Lost and Found

We lose ourselves in life and then we find ourselves and our chosen family. We lose our stuff at home and then we find it later when we least expect it.

There are so many ways this theme can be interpreted but the overall message is that no matter where we are in life, there is a place or a mindset that is out there, that will help us feel like we belong. We spend so much of our time feeling lost. Then we find this beautiful community where we find ourselves.

In memory of Lost and to those we've found.

Suspend Reality

Mad Marionettists mashed up with psychedelic Salvador Dalis thereby creating a surreal dimension. Everything comes with a twist. Many types of swingers hanging around... Somehow it all looks familiar but just isn't. You neek, you forick, you nanamus, you reeka!

Mosaic's "Suspend Reality" theme encourages participants to step outside of their comfort zones and explore new perspectives, whether through art, music, performance, or other forms of expression.

This theme encourages participants to let go of their preconceptions and to fully immerse themselves in the moment, to be present and open to the endless possibilities of the Mosaic Experiment, where participants can discover new dimensions of themselves and the world around them.

Perchance to Dream

Be it daydreams or nightmares, all that exists in our world first existed in someone's dream. As we sleep our dreams allow us to imagine all of creation, from fantastical universes and inventions to creatures and landscapes unknown.

Whether light or dark, colorful or monochromatic, if we embrace this power of dreaming - what communal dreamscapes can we create?

Labyrinth of Reflection

Labyrinth of Reflection beckons participants to embark on a profound journey of self-discovery within the intricate maze of their own minds. Drawing inspiration from the teachings of Jungian psychology, this theme invites attendees to navigate through the labyrinthine corridors of their psyche, delving into the depths of their subconscious and confronting the shadows that dwell within.

Throughout Mosaic Experiment 2024, immersive art installations will serve as portals to the inner realms, offering poignant reflections of the multifaceted nature of the human psyche. These creations will challenge participants to explore their own complexities, prompting introspection and self-examination. Guided workshops and interactive experiences will provide opportunities for individuals to engage in shadow work, shedding light on the aspects of themselves that have long been concealed or neglected.

Through transformative processes and group discussions, attendees will confront their fears, acknowledge their vulnerabilities, and embrace the full spectrum of their being. As participants navigate the twists and turns of the labyrinth, they will encounter moments of revelation and insight, each turn offering a new perspective on the journey of self-discovery.

Ultimately, Labyrinth of Reflection serves as a catalyst for personal growth and inner transformation, inviting attendees to emerge from the shadows with a deeper understanding of themselves and the human experience.

Port of Call

The first rise of a campfire in the distance, a bird carrying a bit of leaves, the mountain you always look upon when you wake up in the morning..... After the long journey you finally have arrived and can put yourself to port for the first time in a while. How long have you been gone? Did you miss someone? Did no one miss you? Has anything changed? What will be the first thing you do after leaving the cramped quarters of your vessel?

We invite you to drop anchor and realize that you've made it. Though not everything might be better here, at the very least it will be different. Now stretch your legs and head to the place you've been dreaming of your whole long trip. Both good and bad have been waiting for you....

WHAT, WHEN, WHERE 2022 NOW ACCEPTING YOUR SUBMISSIONS!

One more update tonight!

Do you or your theme camp have a special or ongoing event you're planning for Mosaic? Something like a crafting session, DJ set, morning coffee gathering, performance art piece, talent show, book club, drinks, food, etc? Wondering how you can let the community know how to take part or attend?

Look no further, as your 2022 WWW (What, When, Where) Submission Form is now live!

https://www.mosaicexperiment.com/www

For those unfamiliar, the WWW is a live guide for ongoing or special events being held by you in the community during Mosaic Experiment.

From now until September 23rd, you can submit to the WWW and we will regularly update the calendar of events in the What, When, Where page right there on our website! Neat, huh?

This way you'll be able to schedule your events to share with the community and check out all of the other awesome things going on... or off... or on again...

A Few Things To Remember As You Burn

At a burn there are very few rules and radical self expression is radically encouraged. That said, we do have a few which are shared as a reminder at Gate. Just thought it couldn't hurt to drop them here as a general reminder as we roll into day two. Yesterday was amazing. It only gets wilder from here!

BE RADICALLY EXCELLENT TO ONE ANOTHER

Mosaic Experiment is a burn community dedicated to respectful communication. Healthy discussions are welcomed and encouraged. While disagreement is natural, civil conversation is expected. We practice Radical Self Expression combined with Civic Responsibility and Radical Inclusion.

If someone asks you to leave them alone, do so. Verbal assaults, especially of a continued, aggressive, and/or sexual nature constitute harassment, including microaggressions. Degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.

DIGITAL DECOMMODIFICATION

No spam. No advertisement or promotion. Posts of this nature may be deleted, and you may be removed from the group for repeated postings.

RESPECT PRIVACY

Screen capturing and/or recording is not permitted. Please do not post pictures from anyone's webcam but your own.

NEED HELP?

To request a ranger use the !ranger command, or simply use the phrases "Ranger Help" or "I Need A Ranger".
Now get in there and play! It's your burn. Let's go build it together starting at https://discord.gg/ZfuEGHQ.

Con-effi-clavi-gy Revealed

Let’s discuss fire. Let’s discuss you making fire and sharing it with the community for Con-effi-clavi-gy (aka Burn Night). Let’s discuss getting you involved!

What is Con-effi-clavi-gy? It’s the hybrid, digital gathering we’ve planned for burn night which combines conclave and effigy into one massive online streaming event. Of course, there are surprises taking shape as we finalize plans and this year we will be streaming to several platforms (further details soon) so we’re getting excited to share it with you.

Whether you are burning your own effigy, spinning fire, poi or sharing a kids glow, if you can stream it we want to include you this Saturday night.

Please let us know you would like to perform by registering via form.jotform.com/212437412171143 and we’ll get you into the mix. Please know fire performers will need a safety present and thank you for joining the show!

Our Burn Begins Tomorrow

We cannot wait to join each of you for our digital burn starting tomorrow morning.

If you haven't already, stop by our Experiment's basecamp in discord (discord.gg/ZfuEGHQ), get yourself registered and ready, check out our What When Where guide (mosaicexperiment.com/…/what-when-where-2021), add to the experience with your creativity (form.jotform.com/212437412171143) and get ready…

We're about to begin!

What Will You Create?

It’s Monday of burn week. This would normally be the time we send up signal flares seeking our final volunteers. A digital burn is quite different. We don’t need the usual horde of burners working toward infrastructure BUT, we still need each and ever one of you (just in a slightly different way).

Please consider taking that time you would have given to the burn volunteering and think about what you can share as an experience for others.

It’s not too late to add something fun to the mix. Have an area of knowledge that you love to discuss? Have art you’ve created over the last year? Creating something right now? Have a song you’ve been dying to perform or music you simply must share? Dancing? Drumming? A film watch party? There are so many options to express yourself beyond even these suggestions.

Let us help you make your idea a reality. Share what you are considering in our Discord (discord.gg/ZfuEGHQ) and stop by spots like “art-room”, “burnable art” or even "center camp" where you can workshop your idea with other burners. We build but we also build together and that's just the best!

What Are They Building In There?

We are 9 days away from our gates opening for the 2021 digital Mosaic Experiment. How should you get ready? Registration is simple. If you've joined our Discord server (https://discord.gg/ZfuEGHQ), you are ready and everything will be shared as a free experience for our community. Whether you want to simply attend or build your own experience to share, we want your participation and radical self-expression as we burn digitally September 16th-19th.

What are we planning? We are once again building a 2021 burn landing page which will take the form of a map of Reclaim with theme camps and experiences linked directly into it. We will utilize Discord for our main Mosaic hub for hanging out, but those of you creating spaces within the wider Experiment can share content through any interface that best fits the experience you have planned. We’ll simply tie you into our map and detail what you are sharing to our broader community.

We are seeking to include art, music, interactivity, community, creativity, an inclusive environment and just about anything you can dream into digital reality. There will be a conclave and we want you to be a part of it. There will be an effigy burn tied into a single burn night experience for you to enjoy.

As was the case last year, we are working to match the spirit of the burn if not the actual physicality which means we are looking to the community to join us as we cross the finish line (just like we do each year in person).

Have questions? Let us know!

What When Where Guide Reopens

Do you have art to share, fun things to experience, talks to unveil, music to create, gatherings to host? We want it all to be part of our 2021 burn so please let us know so we can help spread the word through our WWW (What When Where) Guide. We're jumping back into the action and reopening our guide for your submissions.

We initially rolled it out toward the end of July but we've now retooled it for our digital burn. You can find the updated version by visiting: form.jotform.com/212437412171143

The WWW guide will be a living documents and will be updated regularly throughout the gathering this year. Unlike years past, submissions to the guide do not close, and will remain open until the end of the burn weekend. As we re-share the growing guide later this week, be sure to check back often as you never know what new plans the community may add to your upcoming burn!
